MATILDA HUNTLEY
Matilda Huntley was born in Marion county, Iowa, May 5, 1856, and passed away at her her[sic] home in Imperial, Neb., November 4, 1931,aged 75 years and 6 months.
She was united in marriage to John M. Teter, November 24, 1872. To this union were born seven children, four of whom died in infancy. She spent the early part of her life in Iowa, and moved to Nebraska in 1907, and located in Imperial about 17 years ago.
She united with the Christian church of Milton in 1914, and remained a true and faithful member of same until the time of her death.
For the past two and a half years she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Earl King. Mrs. Teter has been in failing health for the past year.
She leaves to mourn her departure three daughters, Mrs. Ed Phillips, Mrs. Thomas Elrod, and Mrs. Earl King, all residing in Imperial. One brother, Edward Huntley, of Milton, and three sisters, Mrs. Wilson Shaw, of Milton; Mrs. Minnie Coconohr, of Kahoka, Mo., Mrs. John Perigoo, of Kahoka, Mo., nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Six grandsons acted as pallbearers.
She was a kind and loving wife and mother, always willing to help her friends and neighbors in time of sickness and death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 5, in the Luhrs Memorial chapel, Rev. Henry F. Martens, pastor of the Methodist church of imperial, officiating, after which the interment was made in Mt. Hope cemetery. – Imperial, Neb., newspaper.
