Friday, June 10, 1988M. Parsons rite set at Douds
DOUDS - Mark M. Parsons, 92, Pekin, Ill., formerly of Douds, died at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 1988, at Veterans Administration Center in Danville, Ill.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with Richard Parsons officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Fairfield. Friends may call starting at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home, where memorials to the Douds community Building may be left.
Parsons was born Sept. 4, 1895, near Douds, the son of James and Eliza Rambo Parsons. He farmed most of his life south of Douds, retiring to Sun City, Ariz. He moved to Pekin, Ill., in 1987. He graduated from University of Minnesota, was a Navy veteran of World War I, and a member of John Hyson Reneker Post 494 American Legion and Celestial Lodge 413 AF and AM, both of Douds. He married Agnes Ploss, Aug. 21, 1930.
Surviving are two son, Merrill of Pekin, Ill., Norman of Ottumwa, and five grandchildren. Five brothers, four sisters and three grandchildren, preceded him in death.
