The service for George Vern Tedrow, 78, Route 1, who died Monday morning, June 6, 1988, at his home, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Shirley Meendering officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery northwest of Douds. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to donor's choice.
Tedrow was born Oct. 14, 1909, Douds, the son of Joseph and Grace Camblin Tedrow. He married Lucile Cubbage June 30, 1936, in Batavia. He worked at Dexter Company for 21 years and was a retired farmer, having farmed in Round Prairie Township. He served in the Army in World War II, was a member of Mount Zion Methodist Church and the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, George of Boonville, Mo., Arthur of Wever; two daughters, Grace Chambers of Santa Fe, N.M., Marilyn McCoy of Overland Park, Kan.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five brothers, Lloyd of Manning, N.D., Rayburn and Glenn, both of Fairfield, Merl and Brice, both of Libertyville; three sisters, Ellan Pearson of Libertyville, Bertha Ferrell of Hedrick and Zelda Manning of Fairfield. A sister preceded him in death.
