Frank H. Hootman, 81, of Douds, died at 2 p.m. March 22, 1996, at the Van Buren County Health Center in Keosauqua.
He was born January 24, 1914 near Douds to Clarence Earl and Margaret M, Morrow Hootman. He married Dorothy Channel June 8, 1935, in Davenport.
He attended Oak Grove School as a child and attended Oak Grove Church. He had been a resident of the Douds community for his entire life. He was a farmer, a logger and operated the Van Buren Oil Co. from 1947 to 1949.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Sonny of Farmington; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Lester of Douds and a special friend Sporty Roush of Douds.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in infancy,
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 25, 1996 at the Burch-Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham. Burial was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds
