Marvin L. Stanley

Marvin L. Stanley, 61, 803 W. Harrison Ave., died at 7:52 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 1993, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. John D. Boatman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the family.

Stanley was born Oct. 4, 1931, near Salem in Henry County, the son of Merle Frank and Viola Belle Moxley Stanley. He lived most of his life in the Fairfield community and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1951. He married Mary L. Connelly on Feb. 22, 1957, at First Baptist Church in Fairfield. He was a self-employed welder and worked in the maintenance department of Fairfield Aluminum Castings Co. He also had worked at Pech Welding shop, Hudgell and Evans John Deere Store and Estle Delong Construction Co. He attended First Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Bruce M. of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Barbara J. Stanley of St. Charles, Mo.; three brothers, Charles of Hillsboro, and Clifford and Leland, both of Fairfield. An infant daughter, Mary Beth, a brother, Dale, and a sister Refa McClellan, preceded him in death.
