Thursday rites for V. Padget

KEOSAUQUA --- Virginia L. Padget, 60, died at 9:30 a.m. Monday at University Hospitals in Iowa City. She had suffered a heart attack Friday.

The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Zion Presbyterian Church north of Keosauqua with the Rev. Charles McCracken officiating. Burial will be in Forbes Cemetery near the church. Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua id in charge of arrangements. Memorials have been established to the Heart Fund and the Keosauqua Public Library.

Mrs. Padget was born Dec. 6, 1926 in Van Buren County, the daughter of Paul and Eunice McLain Mairet. She graduated from Birmingham High School in 1945. She had been employed as a legal secretary for McGrath and McGrath Law Firm in Keosauqua and was a partner in RPM Corporation, a Keosauqua abstracting firm. She married Arland Padget May 26, 1962 in the Mount Zion Church north of Keosauqua.

Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Amy, a student at UNI Cedar Falls; two brothers, Dannie Mairet, Lees Summit, Mo.; Ronnie Mairet, Grandview; a sister Pat Anderson, Muscatine. Three brothers preceded her in death.
