Wayne E. Kelsey, 68, of Milton died at 2:30 A.M. Friday, October 19, 2001 in the emergency room of Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua. He was born August 13, 1933 in Iowa City to John W. and Ada Smith Kelsey. He married Joyce Kinney May 24, 1973 in Twin Falls, Idaho. He grew up in Iowa and Texas and worked as a farm hand in Idaho for several years, was a security guard at a hospital in Kansas City, MO and moved to Milton in 1992. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict and was a life member of Disabled Veterans. Surviving are his wife, two sons, David of Portland, OR and Matthew Alex of Bonaparte, a brother and two sisters. His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 22, 2001 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, Rev. Jerry Caughron officiated. Burial with military rites by Russell-Strait Post No. 483, American Legion, Milton was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cantril.
