Samuel David, son of Joseph A. and Mary Hall was born in Schuyler county, Missouri, March 11, 1859 and died in Monrovia, California, April 8, 1928, at the age of 69 years and 28 days.
While a small boy his parents moved from Missouri to Iowa settling west of Milton. After living there a few years the family moved to South Prairie, where excepting two years in Bloomfield, Iowa and a short time in Monrovia, California, he spent all of his life.
January 24, 1885 he married Elizabeth Brumley. To this union were born two sons, Alton B., dying in infancy and Glen B. of Monrovia, California.
May 19, 1927 he married Jennie Saunders. He leaves to mourn his death, his widow, his son, Glenn and wife, Bessie, and grandson, Gerald, three sisters, Matilda Ellis, Memphis, Mo.; Frankie Campbell, Ottumwa, Iowa; Mary Potter, Los Angeles, California; seven brothers, Elias J., Stockport, Ia., Joseph H., Centerville, Ia., Albert, Queen City, Mo.; Benjamin J., Bloomfield, Ia.; Charles, Queen City, Mo., Theodore, Trail, Minnesota; J. C. Milton, Ia.; one half brother, William, Missoula, Montana and many friends and acquaintances.
The remains were brought to Milton on Friday April the 13th, the funeral being held from the Christian church at 2:00 p.m. Conducted by Elder P. D. Holloway, of Memphis, Mo. Burial in Milton Sunnyside cemetery.
