HARRY REECE WEYER

Harry Reece Weyer was born at Troy, Iowa, August 23, 1858, and passed away at his home in Troy, Iowa, January 6, 1927, aged sixty-eight years, four months and twenty-seven days.

All his days were spent in the community of his birth and for more than thirty years he was a merchant of Troy. For more than twenty years of this time he served the community as postmaster and continued in that capacity until last April when failing health compelled him to resign.

On November 20, 1889, he was united in marriage to Flora Belle Law. To this union two children were born, both of whom with the stricken wife survive. They are Mr. J. Harlan of Chicago, and Mrs. Helen Jamison of Keosauqua, Iowa. There is also one grandson, little Robert Lloyd Jamison of Keosauqua, Iowa.

In his early manhood he united with the Methodist Episcopal Church at Troy, and later transferred his membership to the Presbyterian church.

The deceased was a good man, honest and upright in his dealings with his fellowmen, highly respected in the community in which he lived all his life.

On last April he suffered a stroke of paralysis compelling him to retire from business and from which he only partially recovered. A few days before the beginning of the new year he was attacked by the la grippe and his condition made it impossible for him to survive. On January 6th he was relieved of his physical suffering and infirmity and went to the Eternal Home.

Aside from the wife, two children and one grandchild, there remain to sisters, Mrs. Dora Law of Troy, and Mrs. Emma Bruce of Keosauqua, Iowa, and other relatives and a large circle of friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the home at Troy and in the Methodist church at Troy, on Saturday, January 8th, 1927, by Rev. Gilbert of Milton. A large company of friends were present. Interment was made at the Troy cemetery.
