HOLCOMB BRODEEN

Holcomb A. Brodeen, son of Aka and Anna Brodeen, was born in Sweden, April 19, 1860, and died at his home in Troy, Iowa, December 28, 1926, at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 8 days, after an illness of five weeks.

He came to this country at the age of ten years. On July 3, 1881, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jane Lee. To this union was born one son, Charley, of Troy.

Mr. Brodeen was the youngest of a family of five children who have all preceded him in death except one sister, Mrs. C. S. Graves, of Spokane, Washington.

In 1892 he moved to his farm in Davis county where he resided until seven years ago when he moved to Troy.

He was a member of both the Odd Fellows and Masonic lodges of Troy, and thought lots of his lodges and attended regularly until his last illness,

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, his son and wife and two granddaughters, Bessie and Ruth, all of Troy and who were at his bedside at he time of his death. Also a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at one o’clock at the M. E. church in Troy, by Rev. Moore. He was laid to rest at the I. O. O. F. cemetery at Troy.
