Susan Casuer 1839 -1926

Susana Floyd was born in Green county, Penn., Dec. 1st, 1839, and died at the home of her niece, Mrs. Lena F. Garrett, Troy, Iowa, April 16, 1926, at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 15 days.

She came to Clarinda, Page county, Iowa In the fall of 1866 and was married to Thomas Casuer, January 3rd, 1867, after which they moved to a farm north of Troy, Davis county, Iowa. In 1871 they moved to Troy, Her husband preceded her in death, Sept. 1st, 1914.

She was converted when quite young and united with the M. E. church. After coming to Iowa she transferred her membership to the M. E. church of Troy. She has been quite feeble for a number of years and wasn’t able to attend church services, but was always loyal to her church. When she was no longer able to care for herself, she was taken to the home of her niece, Mrs. Lena F. Garrett, who cared for her until her death.

The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, April 17th at the home conducted by Rev. Moore, pastor of the Troy M. E. church. Interment was made in the Troy cemetery.
