HARNESS rites at Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM -- Bob E. HARNESS, 72, Birmingham, died at 5:40 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Burch-Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham. The Rev. Duane Olsen will officiate and burial will be in Mapel Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at their convenience at the funeral home Sunday and Monday. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Fund or the Birmingham First Responders.

Bob E. HARNESS was born Nov. 10, 1912, in Van Buren County. He was the son of Mac and Claudia FICKEL HARNESS.

He graduated from Birmingham High School and spent his entire life in the Birmingham community.

His marriage to Louise RHYNAS took place June 2, 1939, at Lancaster, Mo. She survives.

HARNESS was a member of the Birmingham Lions Club and had been employed at Louden's in Fairfield. He also had been a self-employed trucker for 40 years.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by two sons, Robert, Birmingham, and Richard, Ottumwa; one daughter, Marjean SHOTT, Fairfield; seven grandchildren; a brother, Dick HARNESS, Fairfield; and a sister, Wilda CORRY, Birmingham.
