John Wyer was born July …..1830 in Warren county N. Y. and died at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa …..1908, being 77 years… months…..days of age.

His parents moved to ….County, Ohio, thence to Van Buren county Iowa in 1853.

He was married on Nov….1855 to Mary Miller who passed to her reward Feb. …1902. To this union six children were born, one daughter dying in infancy. Three daughters and two sons are left to mourn his loss. Mary Ann Baber, Henrietta Warner and Emma Simmons all of Bonaparte, Wm. Wyer of Montana and Frank of Humeston, Iowa.

The deceased united with the Mt. Zion Baptist church in 1855 and always lived a true and consistent christian life. His many noble traits of character will long be remembered by those who knew him.

The funeral services were held at the Baptist church on Tuesday afternoon. Alfred Tranerry the pastor…
