Marth McWilliams Cavitt.

Martha McWilliams Cavitt was born in Perry Co., Ohio, August 23rd, 1836, and departed this life January 6th, 1911, aged 74 years, 4 months and 13 days. In the fall of 1849, she removed with her parents to Clarke Co., Mo., where she continued to reside until the time of her decease. In 1862 she was united in marriage with James Cavitt and to this union were born two sons, Wallace and Bruce, who with one sister and a brother survive her.

In 1854 she acknowledged Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and united with the Baptist Church at Bethlehem, Mo. The He was indeed her Savior is attested to, not only by her true Christian life, but by her willingness to answer the Divine summons.

While in attendance at the bedside of her sister Mary, who was hovering between life and death with pneumonia, she herself, was stricken with the ________ disease. Attended with ____ and watchful care, she trembled for ten days _________ peacefully closed her eyes to waken in the better world where sickness and sorrow never come.

Thus twice in one short week has the Grim Reaper entered this home and taken a loved one from us, but we know that they are only gone to the brighter home to await the coming of those here below.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. J. Hamilton at the home on Sunday afternoon. The remains were laid to rest in the Blackledge Cemetery near the old home.
