SMITH - At Keosauqua, Tuesday, April 14, of consumption, Mrs. Jennie Smith, aged 27 years.

The deceased was the wife of Conductor C. W. Smith, of the Rock Island road, to whom she was married Dec. 26, 1882. She had been sick about four years. Through it all she bore her suffering with the utmost patience and fortitude, while a devoted husband and loving parents and friends did everything possible to save her life, and realizing finally that could not be, everything that fondest love and tenderness could suggest was done to cheer and sooth her on her lonely journey to the grave. The funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, the Rev. C. V. Cowan officiating, she being buried, at her request at Vernon.
