ELY. - At his home in Harrisburg township, April 15, John W. Ely, aged sixty years.

Mr. Ely had been a resident of Harrisburg township for sixty years. His death was a painful surprise to friends in that community and all over the county. Tuesday he was enjoying seemingly as good health as ever. He arose Wednesday morning at an early hour and shortly afterward was found dead in his chair. Mr. Ely was a devoted Christian, and an excellent citizen. His death is mourned by many friends. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. T. S. Pool Friday afternoon. The remains were interred in the Bentonsport cemetery.
