MRS. CULLEN S. HUMPHREY

Mary Alexine Johnston, eldest daughter of William N. and Minnie L. Johnston, was born Dec. 27, 1886, near Mt. Zion, Iowa, and died at her home in Davenport, Iowa, July 29, 1925, aged 38 years, 7 months and 2 days. She was married January 1, 1907, to Cullen S. Humphrey at Keosauqua, Ia. She is survived by her husband and the following children: William, Hollis, Mary, Marjorie, Ruth, Genevieve, Carroll, Donna and an infant daughter. She was preceded in death by two sons, Lynn, aged 12, and Cullen S. Jr., aged 10 months and one daughter, Cletus, aged 6 months. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Minnie Johnston of Mt. Sterling, Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. George R. Buckles of Keosauqua, Iowa, and six brothers, Tom F. Johnston o Woodbine; Lee R. Johnston and Guernsey G. Johnston of Mt. Sterling; W. Pitt Johnston of Birmingham; Forest W. Johnston of Rhodes, and J. Bryan Johnston of Burlington, and number of more distant relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held from the Locust St. Congregational church in Davenport, Iowa, Friday, July 31, 1925, at 10:30 o’clock a.m. and she was laid to rest in the Oakdale cemetery at Davenport, Iowa, beside the children who had gone before.
