Charles Warren, an old respected citizen of Van Buren county died at his home in Vernon Thursday, April 18, 1901, at the ripe old age of 83 years 7 months and 14 days. Mr. Warren was born in New Jersey September 4, 1817, and came to Farmington at the age of 22. He was married to Phoebe Dickey in 1850. In a few years his first wife died and in 1865 he was married to Lusetta Armstrong. Mr. Warren was one of Farmington’s earliest settlers and ways always a highly esteemed and respected citizen. We regret our inability to learn more of his family history. For years he lived west of town on the farm now owned by Judge W.G. Todd. About twenty years ago he sold the old homestead and removed to Wayne county, but a few years later returned to Farmington and took up his residence here in town. About two years ago he traded his Farmington property to Miner McCrary and moved to Vernon. So far as we have been able to learn his only children now living are Mrs. John C. French and Hugh Warren. The remains were interred at Vernon, April 19, Rev. Rowlingsworth officiating.
