DIED

At her home near Acasto, on Sunday morning, Jan. 29 at 9:30 of liver trouble, Mrs. Mary Spurrier aged ** years 10 months and 17 days. Mary Kennedy was born March 12, 1836, in Pennsylvania and removed with her parents to Ohio and from there to the vicinity of Acasto about 1860. A few years later she married A. M. Spurrier. He died January 15, 1879.

Mrs. Spurrier for two years had been a sufferer from a liver disorder that baffled medical skill, and at the time of her death was a mere shadow.

She leaves a son, Frank, and daughter Mrs. Lizzie Stewart, both of whom reside on the home place.

The funeral occurred Monday at 2 o’clock Rev. Warner of Athens officiating, and the remains of a noble, patient and long suffering woman laid to rest in the Acasto burying ground.
