On Sunday morning between nine and ten o'clock occurred the death of William Henry Benson at the family residence on Elm street. The deceased was born March 11, 1846 in Farmington and was in his forty-sixth year. Will has been in poor health for several years, but would no doubt have got along nicely had he not been attacked with LaGrippe which did its work slowly but surely, confining him to the house for long weeks.

Will Benson possessed more than an ordinary share of manly qualities and everybody was his friend. He was justly noted for his generosity and kind heartedness. He was a splendid scholar and had seen much of the world, thoroughly enjoying life while he could.

The funeral occurred from the family home Monday at 3 p. m. and was attended by a large concourse of friends who held Mr. Benson in highest esteem during his life. The choir furnished appropriate music and the floral offerings, elegant. After Rev. B. M. Boydston's beautiful discourse was ended, the remains were taken to the Farmington cemetery and all that was mortal of William H. Benson was lowered into the grave.

[handwritten of face of obit. was "June 28 - 91"]
