Mrs. Catherine Muir, widow of Thomas Muir, formerly of Vernon Prairie, this county, died at the home of her son-in-law, Mr. M. J. Burns, at Denver, Col., Dec. 31, aged 86 years. She was born in Maryland, was married to Mr. Muir in 1837, and came to Van Buren county in 1840, when Iowa was still a territory and with [the remainder was cut off.]
