An Oregon paper announces the death of a former Bonaparte citizen as follows: "The mail regrets to announce the death of Samuel Chapman of Talent, which occurred Sunday, March 29, after an illness of nearly twenty eight weeks. Mr. Chapman was a native of Scotland, but went to Iowa at an early period of his life and made that his home until the spring of 1891 when he came to Southern Oregon, and made this his home since that time. The deceased lived to the ripe old age of 73 years, when he took his departure to he land where trials shall be no more."
Mr. Chapman was a boy when with the family he removed here and until his removal as announced above lived her continuously. He was a brother of Mrs. Frank Whitmore and A. Chapman of this city and also a brother of Wm. Chapman and Mrs. Com Young near town. He resided on a farm on Honey Creek and is well remembered by our citizens who extend sympathy to the bereaved family.
