BIRMINGAHM - Charles Edward JOHNSON, 73, of Birmingham, died today, Friday, March 29, 1996, at Van Buren County Hospital.
The body has been cremated. A private family service will be at a later date, with burial of cremains in Hillcrest Cemetery at Brighton. Burch-Raymond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
JOHNSON was born Feb. 16, 1923, in Richland, the son of Charles L. and Lenna DUKE JOHNSON. He graduated from Richland High School in 1941. On June 6, 1942, he married Nita Faye HODSON in Lancaster, Mo. He was a farmer and had worked at Iowa Malleable for 24 years.
Surviving are his wife; five sons, Richard and Dennis, both of Fairfield, Donald of Mount Pleasant, Raymond of Birmingham, Jeff of Eldon; two daughters, Diana JOHNSON of Lockridge, Kathy KULENBECK of Mount Pleasant; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death.
