Edward Akey Dies at Farm Home

Long Time Resident of Keosauqua Vicinity
to Be Buried Sunday

Edward Akey, 66 years old, passed away at his home south of Keosauqua Wednesday morning at 7 o’clock, after a lingering illness of several years.

He is survived by six children, DeLos of Rutledge, Mo., Mrs. George Eddie of Stubenville, Ohio, Mrs. Dale Watkins of West Burlington, Iowa, Fred Akey of Cantril, and Alice and Charles Akey at home, all of whom are at home for the funeral. He also leaves one brother, Frank, of Montose, Colo.; and four sisters, Mrs. Sadie Rinabarger of Keosauqua, Mrs. Mate Bonner of Ft. Madison, Iowa, Mrs. Grace Kinney of Grand Junction, Colo., and Mrs. Louie Ebling, Memphis, Mo.

Mr. Akey had spent almost his entire life in the vicinity of Keosauqua the only time spent away from here was a very few years in his early manhood when he was in Colorado.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Burnett Funeral home in Keosauqua, and interment will be at the Pittsburg cemetery beside his wife who preceded him in death ten years ago.
