Anderson Funeral Held at Cantril
Sunday AfternoonFuneral services for John Anderson, 77, who died Friday morning at his home five miles northwest of Cantril, were held at one o’clock Sunday afternoon, May 11 at his home. Services were in charge of Rev. A. M. Hadley, pastor of the Milton Christian church. Mrs. O. C. Robertson sang two selections. Pallbearers were Homer Woodin, Frank Woodin, Stanley Hoskin, Glenn Elliott, Paul Brown and Roy Van Dement. The body was taken to Stronghurst, Ill. for burial.
Mr. Anderson was a native of Sweden, coming to Iowa with his parents in 1873. He had been a resident of the Cantril community since 1908. His wife, the former Mary Tadlock of Stronghurst, Ill., died about four years ago.
Surviving are one son, Frank Anderson and one daughter, Lelia L. Anderson, both of Cantril, three grandchildren, Frances, Vance and Marilyn Anderson and three sisters, Mrs. Johanna Abrahamson of Davenport, Mrs. Christine Larson, Plainview, Nebr., and Mrs. Carrie Gustafason, Western Springs, Ill.Source: Van Buren Co.
