Bruce E. BLACKBURN, 80, of Selma died at 2:10 a.m. today, Friday, March 24, 2000, at Jefferson County Hospital.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds. Burial will be in Iowaville Cemetery near Selma. Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with family present from 7-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Selma United Methodist Church and left at the funeral home or mailed to the family.
Mr. BLACKBURN was born Aug. 29, 1919, near Keosauqua, the son of Clifford E. and Lucy MORRISON BLACKBURN. He married Doris M. RITZ June 1, 1940, in Ottuwma.
He graduated from Selma High School, farmed for many years and operated Blackburn's Service Station and Repair Shop in Selma.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Gary BLACKBURN of Oak Ridge, N.C.; one daughter, Connie ROBINSON of Goreville, Ill.; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and one sister, Helen LAMBERT of Selma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Merle BLACKBURN.
