Erma Marie Baugher

Erma Marie Baugher was born in Harrisburg township, Van Buren county, Iowa, on Feb. 6, 1900 and died at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Mahler, in Bonaparte, Iowa on Feb. 10, 1918 at 7:30 Sunday morning being eighteen years, and four days old at the time of death.

She was born in the home farm, eight miles northeast of Bonaparte where they still reside.

Erma was a loving cheerful disposition and being the only child she was naturally the light of the home. Her death was a double bereavement as her father's death preceded hers just one week, which brings to our minds the thought in the measureless realms of time how brief is our earthly life.

Erma was a member of the graduating class of 1918, and was also an accomplished musician. She will not only be missed by her mother, grandmother, and the immediate family but by her associates, schoolmates and friends. We who have been intimately associated with her can truthfully say that to know her was to love her.

She has gone from us awhile but we know that we shall meet again. Her birthday occurred Wednesday of last week while she was in bed sick, she remarked about it being a poor way to spend the day. Her mother can feel satisfied that all was done for her that loving hearts and willing hands could do. But it seems the all-wise Father hath a mansion prepared for her in the Beautiful isle of somewhere.
