Burr Harbidge Dies In West

Former Prominent Van Buren Co. Business Man Survived By Wife, Son, 4 Daughters

Burr Harbidge, 55, former prominent Van Buren county business man died unexpectedly Saturday night at Ontario, Calif.

Funeral arrangements and burial was not included in telegrams to relatives.

Mr. Harbidge was reared in Cantril and was in business there a number of years and with his brother, Glen Harbidge, opened the first Ford agency in Keosauqua. He later sold his interest to his brother and moved to Milton where he was very active in business for many years. Later he moved to Davenport and last year because of poor health he went to Ontario, Calif., where he was recently planning on buying a home.

Survivors include his wife, the former Bernice Saar, a son and four daughters and his brother, Glen Harbidge, formerly of Keosauqua, who is also in California. A nephew, Joe Harbidge who is visiting in Keosauqua and his brother-in-law Hollis Saar of Cantril received telegrams.
