Gone, but Not Forgotten.
The grim monster, death, has entered another home and taken from its sacred fold a fond and loving mother and wife. This time it is Mrs. Bertha Lisle, whose spirit left its tenement of clay at 4 o'clock, p.m., November 29, 1892, aged 51 years, 11 months and 16 days.
Her maiden name was Kisling, daughter of Solomon Kisling, and was born in Decatur Co., Ind. At an early age her parents removed to Van Buren county, Iowa, and February 20, 1876, she was married to John G. Lisle and to them was born one daughter, Georgiana, July 22, 1881, Mrs. Lisle united with the M. E. church at Mt. Zion in 1872, under the pastorate of Rev. W. H. H. Smith. Father, mother, one sister and brother preceded her. She leaves to mourn her loss, husband and daughter, two brothers living at Miller chapel, three sisters, one Mrs. Rowe, of Longmont, Colo.; Mrs. Howard, of Miller Chapel, and Mrs. Moore, of Lick Creek township.
The remains were taken to Miller Chapel last Thursday morning where the funeral service was held by Rev. T. S. Paul, and the earthly form of Mrs. Lisle was laid beside the lived ones who had gone before.
A good woman has gone, but her example and life remains with us. Let us emulate her life so that when the Master calls He may say of us as He has no doubt of her, "come ye blessed of my Father, inherit the home prepared for you." The M. E. church at Bonaparte, in her death, sustains a loss that will be hard to fill, as she was always alive in every good work and deed for the welfare of the church and the advancement of His cause. Her memory has been inscribed upon the hearts of the members which will ever be kept green.
