Gone to Rest.

Hyrus Waterman was born August 5, 1830, in Poquetanuck, Connecticut; was married in Berrah, Connecticut, March 31, 1867, to Julia Manwaring Bailey, daughter of Dr. G. S. Bailey, of Vernon, Iowa. His wife preceded him to the better land, New Years day, 1877.

Three children, Julia, Anna and Grace, are left to mourn what is their loss, and rejoice in what is his gain -- freedom from this world's toil, sorrow and disappointment.

December 27, 1892, at 7:5 [sic] p. m. in Vernon, Iowa, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Anna Murphy, he passed peacefully to rest, aged 62 years, 4 months and 22 days.
