FAMILY WAS
KNOWN HERE

Son of a Well Remembered
Former Minister.

A VERY SAD STORY

The following item was handed us for publication, and we reprint same, trusting that it will be of interest to the many acquaintances of the family. Rev. Inskeep was at one time a resident of Bonaparte, holding the pastorate in the Baptist church, moving away some time in the seventies. The gentleman referred to in the following sketch was a son of the Rev. Inskeep.

Long Beach, Cal. -- "Death is the liberator of her whom freedom cannot release; the physician of her whom medicine cannot cure and the comforter of her whom time cannot console."

This paragraph with the words, "send my body to an undertaker" written on a scrap of peper, was found on the floor beside Mrs. Mable Inskeep 30 years of age, of 28 Golden Avenue, who died at 8 o'clcok this morning in terrible agony, after swallowing over an ounce of carbotic acid with suicical intent. Many times Cash M. Inskeep, her husband, who is 63 years old, has seen her write these words and feared for her reason.

The Inskeeps, who have no children have been m______________ [portion missing] and came to Long Beach [portion missing] ___ado county last April. The aged huband, who is a painter by trade, could not find steady employment and this drove him to drink.

Saturday night he spent most of his weeks earnings in drink and this morning was under the influence of liquor. Mrs. Inskeep went to a drug store and purchased a two ounce bottle of carbolic acid which she took. She immediately went to a grocery store where she was acquainted and handed two letters already stamped but unsealed, and told them she had taken poison. With these words she fell over and died before help could be summoned.
