DIED -- At her home in this place on the 29th inst., Mrs. J. D. Gilbert aged about 52 years. Mrs. Gilbert had not been in good health for some months past but death came unexpectedly and suddenly to the family at about nine oclock last Thursday morning. She had not felt well during the previous night and was keeping her bed the morning of the sad event. Mr. Gilbert her husband left her bedside a few moments to go to another room and was shocked and grief stricken to find when he returned that she had expired during his absence. Medical aid was quickly summoned but the doctor found upon his arrival that death had been instantaneous from heart failure. Mrs. Gilbert had been a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal church since she was quite young and gave evidence through her life and character that she was worthy and ready for the masters call. The family have the sincere sympathy of the community in these hours of affliction. The funeral will take place at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon. -- Lincoln county, Colorado Ledger, July 1.

The subject of the above notice was well known to many citizens of Bonaparte. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cassiday who for many years resided here. She was born and raised in Bonaparte and here her children were born. She was a sister of Mr. Jos. Cassiday of this place and a niece of Mrs. Kean, and Mrs. Ray.
