Seth Brown Killed.

Seth Brown was killed Thursday evening about eight o'clock while at his work in the Rock Island switch yards at Eldon. He was making what is known as a drop switch and fell between the cars with his head outside the rail and his body across it so that his body was almost severed at the waist and was terribly mangled. The engine was stopped and his body taken out as quickly as possible but it is quite certain that his death was almost instantaneous.

He was a regular day switchman but had been put on special duty that evening against his own will. He is an only son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Brown of Bonaparte and leaves a wife and one son, George, who lives with his grandparents here.

Mr. Brown was for a considerable time employed in the factory here but has recently been employed at Eldon. His body was brought to Bonaparte Friday evening for interrment, the funeral service being held Saturday at the home of his parents.

Seth Richards Brown was born December 25, 1871, and died October 25, 1905, aged 33 yrs., 10 months, and 1 day.
