KARL M. CONNOR

Karl M. CONNOR passed away at 1:45 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, 1977 at the West Point Care Center in West Point, Iowa, at the age of 88 years, 7 months and 24 days.

He was born May 13, 1888 in Milton, Iowa to Aaron and Mary Elizabeth HUBBARD CONNOR.

On July 1, 1914 he was married to Emma OLINGER and to this union was born Naomi DOWNING of Springfield, Ill.; Earl of Portland, Oregon; Mary Ellen TATMAN of Kankakee, Ill. and Bethel ROBERTMAN of Streator, Ill. They all survive as well as 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Emma and three brothers; Charles, Ralph and Verni.

Karl spent most of his life in the Milton Community. He loved music and played the violin and flute. He played in a Drum and Bugle Corp for all the local and county celebrations that were being held. He was Sexton of the Milton Cemetery and also custodian of the Milton Public School for many years. Karl's hobby was competitive checkers. The past few winters he has spent in Illinois with his daughter, Mary Ellen. In August 1976 he entered the West Point Care Center.

He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Funeral services were held at the Wellborn Funeral Home in Milton, Iowa at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 8. Rev. Gerald Caughron presided.

Interment was in Sunnyside Cemetery at Milton.
