Wilson SWAILES
Wilson Woodrow SWAILES, 74, of 509 Green Street, Mount Pleasant, Iowa died at 3:50 p.m. Monday, April 30, 1990 at University Hospitals, Iowa City.
Born March 22, 1916 in Henry county, he was the son of Frank David and Mary E. SCARFF SWAILES. He married Clara HEARE December 4, 1939 in Kahoka, Missouri.
He owned and operated a service station in Stockport for 20 years and was employed as a millwright for the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Sandra (Garry) PHILIPS, Stockport, and Dr. Linda WORKMAN, Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Frances GILBERT, Ingleside, Illinois; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The graveside service for Mr. SWAILES was held Thursday, May 3, 1990 at the Spencer Cemetery near Stockport with Reverend David Kennedy officiating. Beatty-Wilkins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials have been established for the Stockport Heritage Society, the Stockport Library, and Morris Park at Stockport.
