Mrs. Charles PUFFINBARGER

Mrs. Josie M. PUFFINBARGER, 87, of 116 S. Birch, died today at 5:55 a.m. at the St. Joseph Hospital.

She was born April 19, 1885, at Selma, to William and Emily JONES. She had lived in Ottumwa since 1940. She married Charles W. PUFFINBARGER on Dec. 24, 1907, in Ottumwa. He died in 1971.

Surviving are two sons, Albert of Ottumwa and Ralph of Kirkville; four daughters, Mrs. Marjorie REYNOLD of Smolan, Kans., Mrs. Alice ZUEHLKE of Fairfield, Mrs Loreane REISH of Hedrick and Mrs. Gladys MYERS of Rock Island, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Emma ARONA of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by five sons, two daughters, and several brothers and sisters.

The services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Kermit Black of the Peoples Church of Batavia will officiate. Burial will be in the Passmore Cemetery south of Selma. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service.
