Mrs. Eunice MAIRET, daughter of Ernest and Emma WILLIAMS McLAIN, was born January 15, 1904, in Van Buren county, and departed this life Saturday, June 15, 1974, at Van Buren county Memorial Hospital at the age of 70. Her entire life was spent in the county.
On December 24, 1924, she was married to Paul A. MAIRET, who preceded her in death in 1943.
Remaining to cherish her memory are two daughters, Mrs. Virginia PADGET of Keosauqua and Mrs. Pat ANDERSON of Muscatine; three sons, Richard of Des Moines, Dannie of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Ronnie of Keosauqua; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Thelma ASKEW of Stockport and Miss Mary McLAIN of Des Moines; two brothers, Leslie McLAIN of Keosauqua and Harold McLAIN of Stockport, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by two sons, Donald and Paul Arthur, a brother, Stanley, and a sister, Lois.
Mrs. MAIRET was a member of the Busy Bee Club.
She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother whose primary interests were her home and family.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 17, 1974 at 2 P. M. at the Keosauqua Congregational Church with the Rev. Harold Schnedler, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Forbes Cemetery north of Keosauqua. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home.
