Bernard Lee SETH, 85, of Farmington, died at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.
Born March 16, 1924, in rural Van Buren County, he was the son of Charles Leroy and Estel Florence WELLS SETH. On Oct. 29, 1949, he married Donna E. MOSIER in Unionville, Mo.
Mr. SETH retired from farming and working as a bulldozer operator. He was a member of Anson Community Church, a charter member of Iowa International Harvester Collectors Club and National Club. He enjoyed collecting antique tractors and machinery, going to tractor shows and pulling his favorite tractor, a 1928 Regular. He also enjoyed going to the Bridge Caf for coffee with friends, talking tractors and farming and helping others restore their treasures.
Survivors include one son, Greg SETH of rural Farmington; one daughter, Shelly BARBER of Salem; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Harley SETH of Kahoka, Mo.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter and his parents.
Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. today at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Farmington where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.The funeral for Mr. SETH will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Anson Community Church with the Rev. Tom Schulz officiating. Burial will be in Christy Cemetery, rural Farmington.
A memorial has been established for Anson Community Church.
