Nina Jane Thomas, 98, died October 6, 2003, at the Good Samaritan Nurscing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born July 6, 1905 at Van Buren county to Elmer and Clara Beghtol Thomas. She married Clarence Thomas June 2, 1926 at Ottumwa. He preceded her in death in 1996.

She had lived and farmed in the Wapello and Davis County area.

Survivors include two sons, Orville (Eleanor) of Davenport, and Richard(Becky) of Casa Granda, Arizona: two daughters, Patricia Brown of Ottumwa and Amy Sylvester of Sun City, Georgia: 19 grandchildren: 45 Great-grandchildren: 12 great-greatgrandchildren: sister, Effie Rupe; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband: son, Edward Thomas; two sisters, Cleva Potroff and Marvel Boyd; and brother, Earl Cole.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 10, 2003, at the Shrine of Memories Funeal Home. Burial was at Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Nursing and Rehabilitation center.
