Monday, October 25, 1976J. F. KELLER Dies At 91
KEOSAUQUA - John Franz KELLER, 91, retired farmer, passed away Sunday evening at 6 p.m. in the Good Samaritan Care Center at Keosauqua.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 2 p.m. at the Keosauqua United Methodist church in charge of Rev. John Cornish with burial in Purdom cemetery. The Pedrick Funeral Home of Keosauqua is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
KELLER was born June 2, 1885 at Oakville, Iowa the son of Joseph M. and Abagail HAIGHT KELLER. He was married to Lena ARNOLD on January 13, 1913 and she preceded him in death March 1925. In February 1927 he was married to Cornelia SHEPPELL and she died in April 1966.
After farming for over 40 years, he moved to Keosauqua in 1962. He was a member of the Keosauqua United Methodist church and Golden Agers Club.
Surviving are 4 daughters: Mrs. Marie PIERCE, Milton; Emma KENNEDY, Mount Sterling; Mrs. Ila Mae HOWARD, Sacramento, Calif.; Martha WELLBORN, Donnellson and one son, Joseph KELLER of Memphis, Mo. He also leaves one step-daughter, Mrs. Edna LOTTA, Sacramento, Calif; two step-sons, Richard SHAPPELL, Los Angeles, Calif. and Edward SHAPPELL, Gilbert, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren and three sisters: Mrs. Muriel STEINBURGH of Cantril; Mrs. Blanche HALE AND Mrs. Ruth APOSTELIC, both of Seattle, Wash.
He was preceded in death by 1 step-daughter, 2 granddaughters, one sister and one brother.
