Obiturary of Mrs. Chas. EarhardtChrystiann Smith, youngest child of Jacob and Jane Smith, was born near Keosauqua, Iowa, June 21, 1854.
She was united in marriage to Charles Earhardt, August 17, 1879.
Most of her life was spent on the farm on which she was born. In 1907 they moved to Cantril, where Mr. Earhardt passed to the great beyond in 1908.
In her girlhood she united with the Methodist Protestant church and remained a faithful follower of her Master.
She often expressed the desire that she might pass peacefully and peace [sic] and on the evening of Tuesday, October 3, she passed peacefully away. She was 62 years, 3 months and 12 days of age. Four sisters and a brother preceded her in death. She is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Margaret Keller of Keosauqua, Mrs. Amanda Robers of Liberty, Nebraska, and Mrs. Lydia Smith of Arbela, Missouri.
Mrs. Earhardt was quiet and unassuming, doing what her hands found to do. Truly she will be greatly missed in the community.
