Nelson HARRIS was born in Jefferson county Iowa at the present site of Libertyville March 24, 1840 He died at his home in Selma on February the 8th. 1916 attaining an age of 76 years 10 months and 15 days. He was married to Lousetta LEWIS on December the 31st, 1867. To this union were born two children. Cora, dying in infancy and Mrs. Carrie RANSOM of this place: besides his wife he leaves one brother and one sister and four grand children and a host of friends The funeral services were held at the home and were conducted by F. S. Hehner pastor of the M. E. Church. Interment was in the Iowaville Cemetery.
