Walter Huff Dies Near Stockport

STOCKPORT, Ia. - Last rites will be Sunday afternoon for Walter C. HUFF, well known Van Buren county farmer who passed away at his farm home northeast of here last evening.

The services will be held at the Stockport Christian church at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Elmer Fritz in charge. The body is at the Weston Behner funeral home in Fairfield.

HUFF has been in failing health for the past year but his death about 6 p.m. last night was considered sudden. His farm is located five miles northeast of Stockport in the Big Cedar community where he was born and reared.

Walter C. HUFF, 79. was born Feb. 2, 1874, the son of the late Scott W. and Elizabeth HOWARD HUFF. He was united in marriage to Stella A. FARMER on Nov. 15, 1895. The marriage took place in the community where he lived. He was a member of the Stockport Christian church.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four children: L. Verton HUFF, Scotts Bluff, Neb.; Boyd W. HUFF, Oberlin, Kan.; C. Rex HUFF, Green Mountain Falls, Colo.; Howard F. HUFF, Tokyo, Japan.

He was preceded in death by three children.
