Charles H. Roberts Dies at Cantril
Retired Mail Carrier Victim of Heart Disease; Leaves Wife, 2 Daughters, 5 Brothers, Sister
Charles H. Roberts, retired mail carrier at Cantril, died of a sudden heart attack about 5:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon as he was walking toward his home in the east part of Cantril. He fell near the Ralph Keeler residence.
Mr. Roberts who was 70 years old, is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Harold Smith of Des Moines and Mrs. John Meade of Cantril; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five brothers, Frank M.T. and Willis of Cantril, Lester Roberts of West Des Moines and Roy Roberts of Bonaparte, and one sister, Mrs. Cassie Hoskins of Cedar Rapids.
Mr. Roberts carried mail on a Cantril route 28 years and retired 5 years ago.
Funeral services were conducted at the Cantril Christian church at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Will Jacobs of Cedar Rapids, a former Cantril pastor.
