Powell Funeral
Cantril - Funeral services were held at the Christian church Thursday morning for Mrs. Lena Powell, 71, who died last Saturday. The Rev. A.M. Hadley of Union Mills, Iowa was in charge and pallbearers were Al Harman, Ed Bennett, Homer Woodin, Ralph Van Fleet, and Lester and Harold Wells. Burial was in the Cantril cemetery.
She was Miss Evalena Yeager, daughter of Caleb and Pauline Yeager, and was born December 4, 1874. She was married October 13, 1903, to W. W. Powell, who died about four years ago. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Bates Cochran, of Pomona, Calif.; her son B.W. Powell, with who she lived; a stepson, E.C. Powell, of Cantril; two stepdaughters, Mrs. J.J. Leaverton of Chicago and Mrs. James Chisman of Chandler, Ariz. And three grandchildren.
