Eliza Masson Dies at 92
Keosauquan Enjoyed Good Health Throughout Long Life; Leaves Son, 2 Daughters
Mrs. Eliza Masson, who would have been 93 years old April 4, died at her home Tuesday. She had been in good health and did most of her own housework although blind the last four years.
Mrs. Masson was an excellent conversationalist and liked to entertain visitors. Except for blindness she retained all her faculties practically unimpaired until her death. She had never been seriously ill.
She was born in Keosauqua in the house now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Haney, and lived after her marriage on the farm where she died. Her husband Eugene Masson, died many years ago.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs.Carrie Whitney of Omaha, Neb; and Mrs.George Prall of Keosauqua, and a son Ed, at home. A granddaughter, Mrs. John Bosch of Omaha, Neb., arrived last night to attend the funeral.
Funeral services will be held at the Burnett funeral home in Keosauqua at 2 o’clock this afternoon and will be in charge of the Rev. C. H. Orf.
Burial will be at the Oak Lawn cemetery and the bearers will be Fred Burkett, Alva Hoskin, Ralph Sloat, Orville Burkett, Aurom Elder and James Burkett.Note: “1941” penciled on obit
