Funeral services of Sarah Elizabeth Matchett, 61, were held Thursday, January 5, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Burton C. Bastuscheck, pastor in charge.

Burial was in the Center Chapel cemetery.

Sarah Elizabeth Matchett was born July 1, 1888, in Armaugh County Ireland and passed away January 3, 1950, at the home of her sister, Martha Elder. She had been in failing health for three years. She entered the Iowa City hospital last March in hopes of gaining back her health without success.

She was of a very quiet disposition, always thoughtful of others and never complained of her own troubles.

She came to the United States at the age of four years, with her parents whom have both passed on, her mother in March, 1897 and her father in December, 1932.

She has lived on a farm all her life, except the last few years when she and her brother moved to Keosauqua.

She leaves to mourn her passing her sister, Martha Elder, and invalid brother, Tom Matchett.
