MISS MATTIE LEE DIES;
SERVICES HELD OCT. 25Milton--Miss Mattie Minerva Lee died Monday, October 23, at a nursing home in Mt. Pleasant after a short illness. She was the daughter of Albert G. and Charlotte Lee, and was born near Pitville (Peaksville), Mo., March 28, 1871. She resided with her parents on a farm south of Milton until 1893 when they retired and moved to Milton, where she had made her home the past 57 years.
Miss Lee was a member of the Rebekah lodge at Eldon, and a member of the Milton Methodist church. She had been cared for by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Eva Lee for the past few years.
She is survived by three nieces, Mrs. Elizabeth Broadwell, Electra, Texas; Mrs. Ruth Rogers, Hereford, Texas; Mrs. Willa Beranek, Lockridge; four nephews, Robert Lee, Linwood, Calif.; George Lee, Fairfield; Leland Lee, Dimmitt, Texas; Oscar Lee, Amarillo, Texas, and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Eva Lee, Milton.
Funeral services were held at the Brown funeral home in Milton, Wednesday, at 3 p.m., with the Rev. John Darlington officiating.
Interment was in the Milton Sunnyside cemetery. Pall bearers were Jess Bell, Walter Godown, George Lawrence, Ovia House and Roulett Hagler.
