J. Evert S. (John) Hoskin, 58, a longtime Fort Dodge resident, died at his home, 1037 N. 24½ St. last night following a heart attack. He had been suffering from a heart ailment since last July.
Mr. Hoskin had been public relations representative for the Iowa Employment Security Commission in the Fort Dodge area for more than 20 years.
Services will at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Vernon Pearson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Bruce Funeral Home until noon Wednesday when the casket will be taken to the church.
Surviving are the widow, Ruth; a daughter, Beth, a student at Buena Vista College, Storm Lake, and a son, Rillman, Fort Dodge.
Mr. Hoskin was born at Cantril, Iowa. He completed his education at Parsons College, Fairfield, and taught school for seven years. In 1941 he married Ruth Gawtry at Fort Dodge. During World War II he served as acting Signal Corps expeditor for the Washington, D.C., and Dayton, Ohio, areas. He returned to Fort Dodge where he became associated with the Iowa Employment Security Commission.
Mr. Hoskin was a member of the board of deacons, served as usher and sang in the choir of First Baptist Church.
