ELDON - Marian Kay Madden Cox, 60 of Carlisle, formerly of Eldon and Selma, died Aug. 14, 2003, at Mercy Hospital.

She was born Nov. 21, 1942 at Pinconning, Mich. She married Willis Cox Sept. 7, 1963.

She was a 1961 graduate of Selma High School. She had worked for Northwestern Bell in Ottumwa and Des Moines, and operated the family farm with her husband near Eldon. She was a member of the Carlisle Christian Church and the Eldon Christian Church and taught Sunday School at both churches. She taught Vacation Bible School at the Eldon Christian Church.

Surviving are her husband of Carlisle, two sons, Greg Cox of Altoona and Brandon Cox of Chicago, Ill.; daughter Stephanie Cox of Carlisle; two granddaughters; her mother Mildred of Ottumwa; and two sisters, Judy Madden of Ottumwa and Evelyn Ritz of Selma.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earnest; three brothers, Bill, Joe, and Keith; and sister, Norma Smith.

Funeral services were Monday at the Eldon Christian Church. Burial was at Harness Cemetery, near Mount Sterling.

Visitation was Sunday at Richardson Funeral Home, Carlisle.
